12. They can’t handle the heat.
Much like all short-faced dogs (ie: my favorite, the pug), Pekes don’t deal with heat well. They should not be in the heat for long periods of time and must stay hydrated! Preventing Heat Stroke is crucial for your pup!
All in all, Pekingese pups are absolutely precious. Like any dogs, they have some “unfavorable” traits, but for every con there’s a huge pro!
