Cara Delevingne Launches Animal Cruelty Awareness Campaign

A new celebrity is raising animal cruelty awareness.

Cara Delevingne has teamed up with New Hope Animal Rescue and Talenthouse to launch an #ArtForAnimals campaign, that celebrates animals and urges pet owners to think before they adopt or purchase a pet. “Owning a pet is not all about the ‘cute factor’; it involves a lot of time, love and money, so if you’re thinking about getting any animal as a gift for someone at Christmas, or any time of the year, make sure they are ready for the commitment,” Delevingne said.

In fact, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in the United Kingdom has noted that the number of abandoned kittens and puppies increases significantly during the holiday season. “For that 10-year-old daughter or son that you are buying that puppy or kitten for, potentially that puppy or kitten is still going to be around when the child is 25 to 30 years old,” Simon Richards from the RSPCA said.

So with this initiative, Delevingne, New Hope Animal Rescue and Talenthouse are asking artists to submit animal-themed artwork for a chance to be featured at the #Art4animals exhibition in London. The work will then be auctioned and 10% of the proceeds will got to New Hope Animal Rescue. Head over to Talenthouse for more information, especially if you would like to contribute artwork!
