So, Is Cinnamon Toxic To Dogs?

This leads to the next question: can it hurt my puppy? In very low doses, the answer is no. If you look across the digital landscape you will find many opinions on dogs and the effect cinnamon has upon them. Some suggest that cinnamon should be supplemented into the daily food intake for the enjoyment of the dog; others suggest that it helps lower cholesterol in puppies or even lowers blood sugar. Though these are good sentiments, they are just that – sentiments. There is no real evidence to suggest that dogs need cinnamon or that this spice benefits them.

Others find themselves on the other side of the pond. They believe that cinnamon can be harmful to dogs causing diarrhea, vomiting, and indigestion.

So the verdict? Every dog is different, and again, they shouldn’t eating human food, so your best bet would be to keep cinnamon away.
