This is by far one of the most incredible stories we’ve ever heard.
According to the Portland Press Herald, a missing New Mexico kitten was found in Maine.
The kitten named Spice, was found in a duffel bag on the street outside of a thrift shop. The man who found her brought her to the Animal Refuge League, where her microchip indicated that she was from New Mexico. The cat traveled over 2,000 — how exactly is a mystery. It’s also a mystery as to why the cat had pet food and kitty litter in the duffel with her.
While everyone is happy that Spice is safe and sound, unfortunately, her owner can’t afford to fly her back to New Mexico. “We’re going to do everything we can to reunite her with her owner,”community relations manager for the Animal Refuge League, Jeana Roth, said.
This is an important story, reminding us how important it is to microchip our animals. You never know where they will be found when they are lost. Watch the video below to see Spice!
