Now here’s a story that will inspire you never to give up.
Four Peak Performance athletes headed to the Ecuadorian Amazon to complete the incredible 430-mile Adventure Racing World Championship. When the team stopped to get something to eat, they came across a stray dog. The captain of the team Mikael Lindnord gave the pup a meatball, and thought that would be the last he saw of him… Lindnord was wrong. “When we set off we did it with some other teams, and I didn’t understand that Arthur was following us until we were alone and he was still there. At one stage we had to take a break and the dog was totally wrecked. We opened two cans of food and let him eat, because he could find no food at all in the jungle,” Lindnord said.
The dog, who they named Arthur, followed the team through freezing and wet conditions, never leaving their sides. All of them made it across the finish line, and Arthur got a surprise of a lifetime. A PayPal account was set up for Arthur to get him treatment and to fly him to Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport. According to the Daily Mail, Arthur has been adopted by Lindnord and will live in Sweden. He is also now considered an official Peak Performance team member. Head over to the Team Peak Performance website to read more about this incredible story.
