Most dogs live anywhere from 8-15 years with regular vet visits, exercise, and mental stimulation. All of which are more readily supplied in loving homes, as opposed to shelters.
These are the saddest of our dog facts:
In a shelter environment, dogs spend too much time alone, with little to do.
And that’s if they’re lucky enough to find themselves in a no-kill shelter. If that’s not the case, the standard wait time is three days before an animal can be put down to avoid overcrowding.
